Governance of The Hidden Seven
Serving the Mission Together
The Hidden Seven exists to inspire people to live by the Seven Principles and work together to improve humanity, communities and the natural world.
To protect both the movement and its members, The Hidden Seven is organised using two separate but complementary structures.
The first structure supports the personal growth of every Guardian.
The second ensures the organisation itself operates legally, ethically and effectively.
These two structures are intentionally separate.
A person's stage in the Guardian Journey does not automatically give them authority within the organisation.
Likewise, holding an organisational position does not make someone spiritually or morally more advanced than anyone else.
Every Guardian remains equal in dignity, worth and respect.
Structure One
The Guardian Journey
The Guardian Journey is the personal path of growth followed by every member of The Hidden Seven.
Progression reflects character, consistent service and contribution to others.
It is never based on wealth, popularity, employment, education or social status.
The Four Stages
Seeker
Learning the Seven Principles.
Exploring the movement.
Beginning the journey.
Guardian
Living the Seven Principles consistently.
Serving the community.
Participating in projects.
Supporting others.
Guide
Mentoring new Guardians.
Helping organise projects.
Supporting local Circles.
Sharing knowledge and experience.
Beacon
A long-standing example of humility, wisdom and service.
Encouraging future leaders.
Protecting the culture and values of The Hidden Seven through personal example.
How Progression Is Recognised
No one promotes themselves.
No individual has the authority to grant progression alone.
Recognition comes from the community.
When experienced Guardians consistently observe that a member is living the Seven Principles through sustained action, integrity and service, they may recommend that person's progression.
Progression reflects trust that has been earned over time.
What Progression Does Not Provide
Progression does not grant:
Authority over other Guardians.
Voting rights above anyone else.
Financial benefits.
Ownership of any Circle.
Control of the organisation.
The ability to change the Seven Principles alone.
Every Guardian, from Seeker to Beacon, remains equal in dignity and worth.
The only difference is the level of responsibility they willingly accept.
The Hidden Seven believes:
Greater progression means greater responsibility—not greater power.
Structure Two
The Organisation
The organisation exists to support the movement.
Its purpose is practical rather than personal.
It manages legal responsibilities, finances, safeguarding, communications, partnerships and the long-term sustainability of The Hidden Seven.
Organisational roles are positions of service.
They are not stages of personal development.
Founder
The Founder establishes the original vision of The Hidden Seven.
The Founder serves as the first Keeper of the Vision.
Their responsibilities include:
Protecting the Seven Principles.
Safeguarding the mission.
Approving major constitutional changes where required.
Supporting the long-term development of the movement.
Appointing the first Board of Directors or Trustees.
The Founder is not above the Seven Principles.
Like every Guardian, the Founder is expected to live by the values they ask others to follow.
Board of Directors or Trustees
The Board provides governance for the organisation.
Its purpose is to ensure that The Hidden Seven remains legally compliant, financially responsible and true to its mission.
Responsibilities include:
Legal compliance.
Financial oversight.
Safeguarding.
Risk management.
Strategic planning.
Protecting organisational assets.
Appointing senior executives where appropriate.
The Board does not determine a Guardian's personal progression.
Executive Team
Where the organisation employs staff, the Executive Team manages the day-to-day operation of The Hidden Seven.
Responsibilities may include:
Membership systems.
Communications.
Events.
Fundraising.
Partnerships.
Volunteer coordination.
Website management.
Publications.
Their authority relates only to organisational operations.
Circle Coordinators
Every local Circle may appoint one or more Coordinators.
Their role is to organise, not command.
Responsibilities include:
Arranging meetings.
Welcoming new Guardians.
Coordinating community projects.
Encouraging participation.
Helping maintain respectful discussions.
A Circle Coordinator serves the Circle.
They do not govern it.
Council of Beacons
The Hidden Seven may establish a Council of Beacons.
This council is made up of experienced Beacons from different countries, cultures and communities.
Its role is advisory.
It exists to help preserve the spirit and values of the movement.
The Council may:
Offer guidance on community matters.
Review proposed changes to educational materials.
Support the Board with community insight.
Encourage cooperation between Circles.
Help resolve significant disputes through wisdom and dialogue.
The Council does not manage the organisation.
It protects the culture of the movement.
How These Structures Work Together
The Guardian Journey develops people.
The Organisation supports the movement.
Neither exists to control the other.
A person may be:
A Beacon who never serves on the Board.
A Director who is simply a Guardian.
A Circle Coordinator who is also a Guide.
A volunteer with no organisational position at all.
Every role is valuable.
Every contribution matters.
Accountability
No individual is above the Seven Principles.
This includes:
The Founder.
Directors.
Trustees.
Executives.
Circle Coordinators.
Guides.
Beacons.
If anyone repeatedly acts in ways that fundamentally contradict the Seven Principles or brings harm to the movement or its members, appropriate action may be taken in accordance with The Hidden Seven's Constitution, safeguarding policies and code of conduct.
Integrity must always come before position.
One Shared Mission
Whether you are a Seeker attending your first meeting...
A Guardian serving your neighbourhood...
A Guide mentoring others...
A Beacon inspiring future generations...
Or a Director quietly managing the organisation...
Your purpose remains the same.
To live the Seven Principles.
To strengthen humanity.
To protect the natural world.
To build communities where every person is treated with dignity and respect.
Different roles.
One mission.
One humanity.
A better future for all.
Guiding Principle
"In The Hidden Seven, leadership is measured by service, trust is earned through character, and every role exists to help others flourish."
